Thai Yoga Massage

What to Expect
Thai massage is an amazing synthesis of many techniques.  To achieve the maximum results, Thai massage therapists use many parts of their body to give a massage, including palms, thumbs, feet, elbows, forearms, and knees.

The receiver is moved through a wide variety of postures within five positions: supine, side lying, prone, inverted, and seated.  Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor to allow for plenty of room for the therapist to use his "center" over, behind, or to the side of the recipient.

What to Wear
Thai massage is a "clothes-on" modality.  Both the person giving the massage and the person receiving it should dress in loose, comfortable clothing that allow for easy movement.   Both the recipient and the practitioner will be barefoot.

There is a lot of stretching, assisted yoga, and joint mobilization involved.  Women should wear pants or shorts for this style of bodywork.

Any jewelry will interfere with giving or receiving the massage and should be removed.
